Dry Spell

Having a bit of a dry spell with my design work
So I thought I'd start garment hunting for my collection.

Just to give me an idea of the kind of silhouettes I want.
These are some of my favourite looks so far,
(imagine them all bright patterned and colourful)
Let me know what you think?

BCBG Max Azria Fall 2012 RTW

I have just seen the new collection from BCBG Max Azria and I am loving all the paneling and block colours. The mixture of blue, green and orange really work and create a solid a collection. The paneling relates to the designs I'm developing and I will defiantly be taking inspiration from this collection. It reminds me of a watered down version of Balenciaga  Spring 2012.

Here are a few looks

Flats

Two garment ideas incorporating leather and digital print, I need to develop more ideas from sketches I did earlier in the week. Technical flats like these make it easier to see if the idea works visually or not. Not a massive fan of these designs, but excited about my new sketches to be developed.

Studio Work

This week I have mainly been creating a toile and block using paper and calico. I aim to make the top in leather and silk, using laser cutting and digital print techniques.... eventually!

Research and Development

Here are a few of my final boards for the recent Research and Development unit we have had at University. Our next unit is Production and Presentation, which is where we make our final outcomes and display them in our end of year exhibition. We have 12 or so weeks left at university, very scary but exciting.

Apologies

Can't apologise enough for our lack of absence lately.
The past few weeks have been hectic to say the least,
the good news is that we have finally finished our research and development unit.
Hopefully we will now have a steady stream of things to bombard you with :D
Here's a sneak peak of what I've been up to.

Marios: Nowhere SS/12

Love the simplicity of this collection
Originally I wanted one of my final collections for the summer to look quite similar to Marios' Landscape collection
Unfortunately I'm not that great of a photographer :)

Beautiful though.
